Ability Centre after a rigorous process engaged the services of Avantgarde Technologies to assist in implementing mission critical elements as part of a project to replace in its entirety the current legacy computer system for use by 900 employees. The engagement was based on their specific areas of expertise, their track record following reference checks, technical understanding and business process alignment.
The replacement project was funded by a Lottery West grant and therefore the management of costs to achieve the best possible outcomes that could be leveraged in the future was of key importance. Avantgarde appreciated the importance of this requirement and have been strategic partners in assisting to implement the ICT strategy.
Avantgarde, apart from delivering excellence in terms of outcomes, were consultative and collaborative. They have been reliable in the delivery of projects working to agreed terms and costs, and delivered projects as per agreed timeframes. All Avantgarde engaged services were documented and signed off prior to commencement of work. Once activity commenced, regular status reports were provided keeping Ability Centre well informed of progress and completion of milestone events, allowing ICT to communicate changes within the organisation. In addition to this, all unforeseen outcomes were brought to our attention in a timely manner allowing remedial action to address the situation as required. This was a critical success factor in managing expectations and mitigating against interruption to delivery of services to staff during normal office hours.
At the end of each engaged activity Avantgarde provided quality technical documentation and went that step further in value adding by providing a handover and education/training sessions for ICT staff to allow for ongoing management. They have also been kind enough to assist staff well after implementation when required. I would have no hesitation in recommending the engagement of Avantgarde Technologies for projects within their specific areas of expertise. They do not pretend to experts in all aspects of ICT but in their realm they are experts. In engaging Avantgarde we do so with confidence.
